The casino dice game of Craps is of American
origin, it originated from the game Hazard by Bernard de Mandeville
in New Orleans in 1813.
It soon became a trend in the American lifestyle
and slowly made its way into the American
casino. Craps used to be one of the more
popular games in the casino, but over the last 20 years it has slowly
divided itself and other games have become more popular.
When playing at a Craps table, the environment
is built upon having a little party around
the table. With Craps, unlike other games,
you get to play along with other players.
It's a great camaraderie because when one person wins, everyone making
that bet also wins, and you get to work as a team. For a lot of people
this is what Craps is all about, but for others the essence is to
make money.
Many people don't like playing Craps because
it seems like a difficult game to grasp,
but once you get the hang of it, it is easy
to follow.
There are two ways to play Craps, Street
Craps and Bank Craps. Usually, you will only
find people playing Street Craps in an informal
situation, the betting is simpler, and someone
must cover the bet in order for the game to go on. Bank Craps is
the type played in the casino. Betting becomes more complicated and
the house covers the bets so the players are in effect, playing against
the house.
Craps is played by either the banker or setter
setting a stake, then a player, or caster,
calls a main (a number from 5 to 9) and then
throws two dice. If the player throws in,
or nicks, they win the stake. The player
currently rolling the dice is called the
shooter and they continue rolling as long as they win. The first
roll in each game is called the come out roll. The shooter wins if
the come out roll is 7 or 11 and loses if they get Craps (2,3 or
12). If the player gets 4,5,6,8,9 or 10, they receive a point. If
the player obtains the point again before 7 is rolled they win. If
the player rolls a 7 before the point, they lose and the player to
the left is handled the dice and becomes the next shooter.
Online Craps games have a little way to go
yet, before it can simulate the craziness
of a real casino. When playing online, it
is very much the same as playing an on-land
casino. There are many methods used to beat
the game of online Craps but not a single
one is capable of doing this in the long run. However, your long
run Craps strategy will help improve your play, reducing the overall
exposure to the house edge making it possible for your Craps strategy
to work. Maybe they'll work
